Our History

Padiham Estate Agency is a family run business originally dating back to 1947 when our first office, Ritchings & Hayhurst opened in nearby Nelson.

Padiham Estate Agency was opened in Padiham, on Church Street, in March of 1963 by Irving Ritchings. His son John, worked at the office with his father from 1972. The office was also a local Agency for the Halifax Building Society until 2001 when the Halifax Agency was closed.

The office then moved to Burnley Road in Padiham and John & Pamela Ritchings are now the owners of the business and have been running it independently since 1981 when they took over from Irving.

Padiham Estate Agency has over 47 years experience of selling property in Padiham and the surrounding areas and hope to continue to do so for the years to come!
